Can o' Worms

Thinking about people's opinions. Most people likely think I'm naff for my belief in spirits. Especially in the belief that I can sometimes talk to them. But I would like to know, what is so wrong with the idea that somehow, somewhere, something of these people that have passed from this world, especially before their time, especially painfully and traumatically, still exist in some way. That they still have a chance. Why the hell is this an inferior belief to the cold, hopeless belief that nothing exists after the demise of these shells we live in? Is it really preferable to have a world that is that cold and mechanical, that we are really all just cogs in a giant machine and have no greater purpose than that? Sorry, but to me, that view just plain blows.

The Rest Room is Open

I know it's short notice, but my Friendfeed chat room, the Rest Room http://friendfeed.com/…-rest-room will be open tonight (January 30) until midnight Mountain time (MST) if anyone wants to drop in. I considered making an announcement and opening it from 8 to 9 tonight, but its a good thing I didn't. I ended up falling asleep about 5 this afternoon and slept till 9.

Nasty and Ghastly

Ghostly Sex and Paranormal Orgasms

A lecturer on the paranormal was addressing a class of university students. He began, "Today I'm going to discuss so-called ghosts. Before I begin, may I ask how many of you believe ghosts are real?"

About 100 hands went up.

"That's about typical," said the lecturer. "Now, how many of you believe you have seen ghosts?"

Several dozen hands went up.

"Again, that's about typical," said the lecturer. "How many of you have talked to ghosts?"

About 5 hands went up.

"Very good," said the lecturer, "about what I expected. Finally, some people claim ghosts come to them in their sleep and have sex with them. How many of you think you've had sex with ghosts?"

Only one hand went up.

"Hmm," said the lecturer, "would you please come up to the front of the room, so we can discuss this in front of the whole class?"

The young man went to the front of the room.

"This is amazing," said the lecturer. "You're the first person I ever met who would admit that he thinks he's had sex with ghosts. Would you tell us the details of how it happened?"

"Ghosts?" said the young man, "Oh shit, I thought you said goats!"

Facebook Stuff

My son FINALLY confirmed me as a friend on Facebook. Sure took long enough! Only kidding. He has real stuff to worry about, like college. Besides, is your uncool old phart of a mom your friend, really?

Actually, Sonny and I have similar tastes in music and such. But a lot of the time I sound like I've been living in a cave the way I talk about things. And after all, I still have to nag him about stuff and be "mom." But I did want to see some of the cartoons he'd put on his Facebook pages. So I guess it's a good thing that he finally logged into his Facebook account again.

40th Birth Anniversary

We hear him and take him among us, like a wind of music,
Like the ghost of a music we have somewhere heard;
We crowd through the streets in a dazzle of pallid lamplight,
We pour in a sinister wave, ascend a stair,
With laughter and cry, and word upon murmured word;
We flow, we descend, we turn . . . and the eternal dreamer
Moves among us like light, like evening air . . .
Conrad Aiken
May you continue to heal in the Afterlife. I offer what I can, with kind regards.
Lily- Lily Strange

This is the 40th anniversary of my spectral friend's birth. I left this message at the Find a Grave site. I know it actually makes him uncomfortable when people leave these tributes to him, but he does appreciate being remembered. He just wishes he wasn't being remembered as "that dead guy." That's not where he's at any more.
A virtual hug to a dear friend that I'm glad I met.

My backpack

I'm studying nursing--out of necessity rather than desire. It might make a few more dollars and give some job security. I've actually been having nightmares about going back this semester.

I prefer to think I'm a writer, and even though it's not made me much money, I do have a published book.

Getting old and curmudgeony does tend to make one flinty! ;-)

My backpack

Oh are you kidding me? Because I forgot to tag my message isn't accepted and I have to rewrite it? GRRRRR!!!!

Anyway, I will redescribe my backpack. It is a trashed-out gray horror that I've had since 2004 when I went back to school to get my emergency medical technician license. It is usually filled with school books. Why is an old croak like me still carrying school books, you may ask? Well, let this be a lesson to you young whippersnappers to get your education while you're young, or you'll end up still in school at the same time your grown-up kids are in school.

I couldn't do it without my old workhorse of a backpack, though. It may not be pretty, but it's functional, and that's what counts.

The Crown of Creation

http://adjix.com/ae6a Creative types: if interested, please join me tonight at 9 PM mountain time for the first meeting of the Crown of Creation Club by clicking the Adjix link. This is an informal club for artistic individuals and supporters to encourage and help one another, offering brainstorming to break through creative blocks, CONSTRUCTIVE critique of each others work, places to promote our various efforts, and hopefully a bit of fun. It doesn't matter what sort of artistic work you do or if you're "only" a supportive admirer, you're welcome to come on down. The meeting will last for an hour. Hope to see a few of you there. This is my first time trying to run a chat room, so exercise patience with my noobness!

Lily on Gala Events

This was a response to a cool post by my chum, the Lazy Iguana.

Being a curmudgeon I tend to think that any kind of gala event is a damn waste of time. I loathe the concept of debutante balls and think that the Oscars and such are boring as hell. My opinion of inaugural balls is pretty much the same. Maybe if you're there it would be more interesting. Myself, it would probably just make me uncomfortable. I hate having to put on airs. So hell with it. Just stay home, drink beer, eat chili and fart while watching movies or sports. It's much more fun.

Darkness Inside

Woke up with such a feeling of darkness on my soul this afternoon. I never feel like I'm allowed to go back to sleep. Always feel like I have to be doing, doing, doing, and yet nothing is ever accomplished. Have never gotten my head around the dichotomy created by working nights. Always heard growing up that only LAZY people sleep during the day. Yet if you work nights, you have to sleep during the day.

But just in time to make me feel like I'm the classiest person on Earth, here is an ad for the "Rock of Love Bus." There is no amount of disinfectant that could get rid of the sleaze on those buses!

Great Radionics Software

http://TwitPWR.com/…nchanterx/

Fellow mystics, check it out. I am! I've had an interest in radionics for many years, so this software piqued my interest. I can see the benefits of using radionics for mystic work. If you're like me and were raised in a religion that tells you that if you wish for something "selfish" such as prosperity you will be punished, it sticks with you even if you no longer believe this sort of thing in your logical mind. Your subconscious is very important in spell work, however, and a negative subconscious message can torpedo the most carefully executed spell. Using radionics bypasses your own subconscious sabotage. Plus it has that scientific edge that we modern people treasure.

Energy is energy, pure and simple. Radionics has been around for many years, but now our modern technology has allowed those knowledgeable in computer programming to greatly improve its execution.

Science meets mysticism with radionics. Take a look at the link above to find out more.

Aqualyte

http://TwitPWR.com/aqualyte/

Yes, this is a product that I sell. I use it myself. Aqualyte is coral calcium. It helps strengthen your bones, of course, but it also alkalizes water or juice. Research shows that alkalizing your diet has wonderful health benefits including the reduction of inflammation in your muscles and digestive tract. Aqualyte comes in easy to use tea bag style sachets, no inconvenient powders, no nasty taste. You can give it to your pets too, and the used sachets can be put in your potted plants to nourish them as well. As little as $25 per month for an individual supply. No hard sell, just check out the web site and decide for yourself.

Mental Illness = A Crime?

http://www.care2.com/…ail/961442

Is being mentally ill a crime? Please read Mary's story. Her mentally ill brother, a heart patient, died in prison. She wants the justice department to investigate and is being stonewalled. Do not persons with mental illness deserve at least the basic rights? Have we not at least come that far?
